Bible Term: Sacred

Sacred is an attribute of a place or thing that is holy.

It can also refer to the condition of items that have been set apart or consecrated for use in the worship of God.

Key verse about Sacred: On the first day hold a sacred assembly, and another one on the seventh day. Do no work at all on these days, except to prepare food for everyone to eat; that is all you may do (Exodus 12:16, NIV).

A lifelong student of the Bible, Peter DeHaan, PhD, wrote the 1,000-page website ABibleADay.com to encourage people to explore the Bible. His main blog and many books urge Christians to push past the status quo and reconsider how they practice their faith in every area of their lives.
