Bible Term: Recompense

As a verb, recompense means to award compensation, make a return, or to reimburse.

As a noun, recompense is a payment or reward for a service or behavior.

Key verse about Recompense: See, the Sovereign Lord comes with power, and he rules with a mighty arm. See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him (Isaiah 40:10, NIV)

A lifelong student of the Bible, Peter DeHaan, PhD, wrote the 1,000-page website ABibleADay.com to encourage people to explore the Bible. His main blog and many books urge Christians to push past the status quo and reconsider how they practice their faith in every area of their lives.
