Definition for Faith A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z Faith: Faith is believing in something or someone in the face of overwhelming opposition or when it is illogical to do so. It has been said, that if there is not the chance to doubt, then it is not faith. A great definition is given in Hebrews 11:1, which says, "Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." Read all of Hebrews 11 for more insight about faith and a list of people exemplifying faith. Although all followers of Jesus accept and follow him by faith, greater amounts of faith are given to some people as a spiritual gift. Faith, hope, and love are a major triad in the Bible (1 Corinthians 13:13, Colossians 1:5, 1 Thessalonians 1:3, and 1 Thessalonians 5:8).
