Epistle:

Any one of the letters that have been recorded in the New Testament of the Bible.  These letters were written by the church leaders and sent to various people or churches.  Most of the books in the new Testament are, in fact, these letters or epistles; the apostle Paul is credited with writing most of them.  The epistles include:

Romans

1 Corinthians & 2 Corinthians

Galatians

Ephesians

Philippians

Colossians

1 Thessalonians & 2 Thessalonians

1 Timothy & 2 Timothy

Titus

Philemon

Hebrews

James

1 Peter & 2 Peter
